Skills Day

PREREQUSITE: Current California EMT Certification, ICEMA Paramedic, or ICEMA MICN Certification

This is a combined lab for EMT's, Paramedics, and MICN's. Paramedics and MICN's must arrive at the start of the session in order to receive their check offs. EMT's may come at any point during the lab itself to obtain theirs.




ICEMA Annual Review Class (ARC) & Field Care Audits (FCA)

This course combines the ARC and FCA required by ICEMA. The ARC is designed by ICEMA and is a requirement for Paramedics and MICN's certified within the ICEMA Region. This course must be taken each calendar year, and during the year in which your certification expires prior to recertification. For example: If you expire in July 2011, you must have an ARC in 2010 and another in 2011 prior to July. Three hours of FCA will be issued for this course. If you have any questions regarding recertification, reference protocol 1060 or contact ICEMA (www.sbcounty.gov/icema)

DRESS CODE: Business Casual or appropriate uniform required by your employer
CREDIT: 2 Hours of CE's are offered for Paramedics and MICN's

ACLS Renewal

The ACLS renewal course is for seasoned ACLS Providers who wish to renew their provider status.

PREREQUSITE: Current ACLS card in hand on the day of class

ACLS Provider

The ACLS Provider Course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia arrest. Providers are expected to learn 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, 4 types of cardiac arrest ( simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA, and Asystole) four types of prearrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndroms) and stoke

PALS Provider

The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to provide the learner with: 1)Information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest. 2)Information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children. 3)The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest.

PREREQUSITE: Qualified health care provider with the ability to interpret EKGs

PEARS Provider

Pediactric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) is designed for Healthcare providers that infrequently see critically ill children. The program prepares a student to assess, catagorize, decide and act early to stabilze the child. This class is a great opprotunity for EMT's, Paramedic and RN's to get CE's other than the traditional CPR, ACLS and PALS.
